Calculation Logic
The tool uses browser Canvas APIs to resize images locally:
- When aspect ratio is locked, the opposite side is calculated from the original width and height.
- Upscaling increases pixel dimensions but cannot recreate missing detail.
- JPG/WebP quality settings affect both file size and visual quality.
- Canvas export creates a new image file; this tool does not claim full EXIF or metadata management.
FAQ
Are my images uploaded?
No. Images are decoded, resized, and exported in your browser without server upload.
Can I resize to exact pixels?
Yes. Enter the target width or height to generate that output size.
How do I keep the image from stretching?
Keep aspect ratio locked. The tool calculates the other side from the original proportions.
Which formats are supported?
The first version supports JPG, PNG, and WebP input, with JPG, PNG, and WebP export.
Does resizing reduce quality?
Downsizing usually keeps a good visual result. Upscaling adds pixels but cannot restore missing detail.
Can I crop or batch resize images?
The first version focuses on single-image resizing, aspect ratio locking, and format export. Crop and batch workflows are not included yet.
