How to Use
- Drop or choose an image.
- Keep auto mode, or choose an output format and adjust the quality slider.
- Review the preview, compressed size, and saved percentage.
- Download the compressed image.
Note: Compression results vary by format. PNG may not shrink as much as JPG or WebP.
Core Features
- No Upload Workflow: Images are read, previewed, and compressed locally in your browser.
- Auto Smallest Result: The default mode compares suitable output formats and avoids returning a larger file.
- Before/After Size Comparison: See original size, compressed size, and saved percentage clearly.
- Quality Slider: Balance file size and visual detail with a simple compression control.
- Common Format Support: Works with JPG, PNG, and WebP where your browser supports them.

Calculation Logic
This tool uses local browser image decoding and Canvas output:
- The source image is read and drawn locally in your browser.
- Output format and quality affect the final file size.
- Lower quality usually reduces file size but may remove visual detail.
- The image does not need to be uploaded for processing.
FAQ
Are my images uploaded?
No. Images are read, previewed, and compressed locally in your browser.
Which formats are supported?
The first version targets JPG, PNG, and WebP formats supported by modern browsers. Actual support depends on your browser.
Why did PNG not shrink as much as JPG?
PNG is often used for transparent or lossless images, so browser re-encoding may not reduce size dramatically. Photos usually compress better as JPG or WebP.
Why does it sometimes keep the original file?
If the original image is already highly compressed, re-encoding can make it larger. Auto mode keeps the original to avoid a bigger download.
Can I target an exact file size?
The first version provides quality control and size comparison, but it does not promise exact KB targeting.
Is the output watermarked?
No. Downloaded images do not include an EasyTools watermark.
