How to Use
- Drag and drop your modern video file (MP4, MKV, MOV, etc.) into the conversion area above.
- In the settings panel, you must ensure "Deep Re-encode" is selected as your conversion mode. (Note: Do not use Fast Stream Copy, as the PSP processor needs the video's internal codec to be entirely rebuilt).
- Click the "Convert to MP4" button. Please be patient while your computer's local processor works through the video.
- Once finished, download your new MP4 file. Connect your PSP via USB, open your Memory Stick, locate (or create) the
VIDEOfolder at the root directory, and drop your file inside.
Core Features
Fix "Unsupported Data" Errors Once and For All
The Sony PSP is legendary, but its hardware video decoder is over a decade old and exceptionally strict. If you transfer a modern high-resolution MP4, an MKV movie, or an HEVC (H.265) video clip to your memory stick, it will almost certainly fail to play. Our engine strips away complex modern container structures and forces the video into the baseline/main profile H.264 format your PSP demands.
True Deep Re-encoding
Many cheap online converters simply rename the file extension from .mkv to .mp4. This will not fool your PSP. Our tool leverages a full FFmpeg engine directly in your browser. When you select "Deep Re-encode", it physically rebuilds every single video frame and audio track to ensure smooth, stutter-free playback on your vintage console.
No Sketchy Software Required
Trying to revive your retro gaming experience shouldn't mean risking your PC with shady, ad-riddled "PSP Video Converter" freeware. Because our application runs 100% securely inside your web browser sandbox, you never have to download or install any executable files. It is entirely clean, safe, and private.
Supports Any Modern Input Format
Whether you have a WebM file downloaded from the internet, an MKV from a Blu-ray rip, or an MOV recorded on the latest iPhone, just drag and drop it here. We handle all the complex parsing and output a perfectly formatted MP4 ready for your console.

Calculation Logic
This application deploys a WebAssembly-compiled version of the industry-standard FFmpeg library directly to your frontend. Upon conversion, it parses the complex header trees of modern video formats, downgrades the H.264 reference frames and encoding profiles to safe legacy levels, encodes the audio into standard AAC, and repacks everything seamlessly into a strict MP4 containerโall without ever uploading your video to a server.
FAQ
Why do some MP4 files play perfectly on my PC but show "Unsupported Data" on my PSP?
"MP4" is merely a containerโthink of it as a digital wrapper. The actual video stream inside that wrapper could be encoded using cutting-edge HEVC or High-Profile H.264 techniques that the PSP's older silicon physically cannot process. Our tool takes the video out of the wrapper, converts it using an older "recipe" the PSP recognizes, and puts it back in.
Where exactly do I place the converted video file on my PSP?
Connect your PSP to your computer using a USB cable. Open your Memory Stick drive. At the root of the drive (the same level where the "PSP" folder exists), look for a folder named VIDEO (all caps). If it doesn't exist, create it. Place your converted MP4 files directly into this VIDEO folder.
Is it normal for the conversion to take a while?
Yes. "Deep Re-encoding" is a computationally heavy process that requires recalculating the video data frame by frame. Since our tool performs this entire operation locally within your browser to protect your privacy, the speed is directly tied to the processing power of your computer's CPU. The wait ensures a 100% successful playback on your console.
